WCC procurement problems still haunting ratepayers

Wellington City Council is facing fresh scrutiny over another questionable procurement process, despite Deloitte warning of widespread failures in how council manages contracts.

Wellington Ratepayers’ Alliance spokesman James Ross said:

“Deloitte found serious, systemic procurement problems at Council, including that only around one in five contracts are centrally recorded. This latest mess is a case in point.”

“With Council chasing $60 million in savings, ratepayers deserve to know how much is being wasted because council is failing to deliver competitive procurement?”
